1909 Alfred Mylne - 1st Rule 12M Design no 162 built (2005)
Here we have a very interesting 'Spirit of Tradition' construction, built some 10 years ago under the watchful eye of Ian Nicholson - the Custodian of the Mylne Dynasty.
The Owner approached Mylne for a set of Int 12M Plans - the ultimate result is a stunning reincarnation using modern technology and building techniques of a 1909 Mylne 12M.
Extensively raced in and around the Caribbean with remarkable success, Kate has now been altered to a more easily handled Cruising Yacht, capable in the owner's own words of making Ocean Passages. The Rig can easily be altered to the original design if racing becomes the ultimate criteria.
She has been constructed using Douglas Fir – SP System strip plank and laminated mahogany frames and beams – a very strong hull has resulted using this build method. Originally, she sported a 4mm Laid Cedar deck. This has now been over sheathed and is painted (this can easily be removed and a teak deck replacement installed should this be required).
It would be fair to say that Kate does require some alterations to bring her right up to scratch. Right now there is no engine and for that matter, not too many creature comforts. She is however more than capable of competing within her own class and other Classic Regattas, many of which she has won comfortably.
Although not as yet measured & rated as a 12M, there is no reason to see why she would not rate. Plans followed to the line and weight are comparable to the original.
The Owner, who by his own admission is bordering on Sailing Madness, has an enviable record with his previous pursuits; he now wants KATE to be used by a discerning new wwner that will fully appreciate her capabilities.
Currently lying in the NE coast of America where he is planning a passage for delivery to Falmouth in 2015. Other projects are awaiting him.
To our knowledge, there are no known hull defects - a survey would be required to substantiate this. Rig is sound. Mast to original plan so new boom and main sail would allow her to revert to plan.
Fast, elegant, low maintenance - what more could you want?
The asking price is $100K US – delivery by negotiation a fraction of her build cost!
We would be pleased to offer advice and costs on the works that may be requested.

"HARRIET" - Cream of Cornwall Launch
Our very own design. She is based on an old motor launch from, we think - Percy Mitchell - a very well respected builder from Mevegissey.
Originally built around 1935, her life started off as an open launch. Later
on around 1958 she had a raised top side and a cabin was added. Little more
is known up until she fell into a new ownership.
This owner turned out to be Admiral Woodard who was the last Captain of "Britannia ".
Alas, over time she was sold on and eventually fell into disrepair. We acquired her and took a good hard look at the original shape, decided she was worth preserving and so proceeded to make a mould from her.
What you now see today is a lovely River Launch, capable of 8.5 knots with a 20HP Engine. She has the ability to carry Champagne, Strawberries & Cream up any river you care to mention. Very stable, she carries up to six people in comfort.
Hull lay up is double normal thickness. The complete fit out is in solid teak and represents fabulous craftsmanship with elegance of a bygone era.
Cream of Cornwall was made for the London Boat Show and is now available
- please ask for more detail. Asking £29,500 +VAT.
Available as a HULL / Part Finished / Complete - with options to suit client needs.

We know her well. Stunning performance.
Originally built in 1909, we believe for the Danish Army & Services, she is one of 5 know to have been designed according to Tim Street the Historic Guru who has researched her.
Four of these were built, the fifth one was designed but never made it
to the water - we can only assume that the War then took over.
Fox Trot is Classified as a KVADREMET. We believe this to be a form of Danish / Scandanavian measurement.
She is quite close to a Int Six M and 37' LOA would possibly measure as one.
In the main, she requires pretty much everything. We do however have plans. Mast, Boom and the Hull is complete.
Some works have been carried out to the floors, the Keel Ballast is all good. Her original shape has been saved.
There is a new set of rigging. We can deliver to anywhere in Europe.
Our asking price is £3000 for everything. We are open to offers and will undertake as much help as we can.
There is quite a bit of History - she will be found in Lloyds Register.
Ideally she should go back to the Baltic and compete in local Classic Regattas.
Are you up for the Challenge? A stunning Day Sailer!! Go on treat yourself!
